Walking Gallery Post

I saw some pretty cools themes like paintball and football. I also saw an interesting remove-a-person effect, the person who created it did a nice job. I heard a chill electronic mix by Noisy Freaks that Trey used in his slideshow. Most importantly, during this unit I learned much more about Garageband than I did before and I also learned valuable information on copyright laws and I can say we accomplished what we set out to learn. Overall I have grown exponentially as a multimedia designer because I have added a great deal of new and valuable skill to my skill set. Some of these skills would include knowing how to compose music on Garageband and the use of Photoshop.

News Podcast

To create my podcast, I recorded myself reading a news article, added background music, then added photos to be seen as the podcast is playing. I am sure this is the professional quality a boss would hope for and I also believe she should use this on the air because it is professional, creative, and informative. If I had the chance, I would do this again because I had fun doing it and I know there is more for me to learn.

Sound Unit Introduction

Today we began our sound unit where I learned several things like how sound moves in waves, you can measure sound in decibels, and how sound reflects off of things. We also watched a video from the Today Show that was about combating hearing loss in today's world. Even though hearing loss has no cure, there are ways to slow down the process and prevent hearing loss. A thought that came up during the video was that my mom used to tell me to turn down the music in my headphones and during a ENT visit I was tested for hearing loss. It turned out that my hearing over the years of listening to music had NOT decreased. If anything, it had improved slightly.

Photoshop Examples

During the Photoshop unit, I learned a lot of new things about photo editing. One cool thing I learned was to use the color spot tool. By using the color spot tool, I could take a black and white photo and add color to certain areas or "spots". Here is an example of what I made.

I learned a lot of cool things that you can do with iPhoto. I also learned how to share my photos as calendars and book, even as a Quicktime slideshow.
